Astrology

I have been a great believer of astrology since long. I am not an astrologer but yes I am a learner. As a learner I am learning the lessons of astrology through experiencing the effects of planets in my life. Though most of us may not believe astrology in public but in secrete we all want to know the future. What is going to happen in the future is not in our hand but the present is in our control if we are focused and optimistic.
To start with what astrology is let us know what are the basics of astrology. There are 12 houses, 12 signs and each of them has its distinct characteristic. There are 9 major planets each with their own role to play in our life.
NATAL CHART
Position of planets during the time of birth, their placement (longitude, latitude, placement in a sign at a certain degree and their aspects with other planets) influences our life. Their daily movement in different signs and houses and its subtle aspect is called “Transit”.
But one’s characteristic traits are mostly determined through the help of Natal chart.

Houses in astrology
House no 1. (Ascendant)
Self, outer personality, appearance

This house is the most important house from where life begins and a person, his personality takes birth. It is the house which tells us about our personality and its pros and cons.
It is the house of our outer self or projected self.
Planets placed here play a dominant role in shaping and projecting our personality to the world and good planets placed here makes the individual visible among others.
Jupiter (the planet of expansion) if placed here then he expands the characters of any planet or star in rlation to him and the house and sign where he is placed in the horoscope. Placement of Sun ( soul )or moon ( mind ) is very benefic as it strengthens the personality traits.
It is an expression of one’s identity and projection of the ego (outer self).

II House

Money and resources earned through personal efforts, ability to manifest money through personal efforts, wealth, and finance, personal possessions (not shared resources). It is the development of one’s material self. It’s nothing to do with our true sprit or spiritual self.
Any affliction in this house either restricts the flow of money in life or it may further increase the chances of expanding one’s earning potential. When we struggle to get something it life then the chances are that we get it. There may be delays in manifesting what we are striving to get in life but one day it manifests.

This is the house where we proudly claim our ownership over our personal belongings (money, possession, emotions)

3rd house communicates. It’s the mind which communicates through different medium of communications. We either communicate verbally or by writing or by gestures. Third house covers all kind of communication and even equipments of communication.
This house is connected to the wit or intelligence of the mind and it is concerns the minds ability to communicate the findings through self-reflection or deep mental analysis.
Communication (short travels, ommuting, transport, and logistics) and the results of such communication is the ambit of this house.
It also tells about brothers and sisters and our communicative relationship with them.

IV Home and family
Home is a place where we find peace, hence home is a place where we are sheltered, nurtured and develop a sense of family and belonging. Our relation with our parents (especially mother) and Mother Nature is what depicts this house
It represents our ancestors, size of home, real estate, heritage and culture (even business related to them), our physical presence or absence at home ( Home is not simply a house which is built of bricks but it is a house where one settles down , feels at ease ( house of strong loving relations), finds a sense of belonging or sense of family)

V Pleasure, Romance and Progeny, creativity
Pleasure comes when our efforts are paid off and our karma manifests. It’s a result of our creative endeavor which bestows us with pleasure. It’s more of mental pleasure. Though all kind of pleasure connected to life is more of a mental phenomenon 5th house here refers pleasure from emotions, romance or love or through our creative endeavor (poetry, art, music, literature, and cinema). It is a house of entertainment. Do not we try entertaining the mind when we feel bored? Every pleasure certainly comes with some risk so our risk appetite to gain pleasure is a result of the activities of this house. Gambling is also referred as one of the characteristic traits of this house. Pleasure is a result of one’s ability to manifest money, so this house is also linked with the 2nd house through a relational way. It signifies love and progeny and pleasure through them.

VI House of Health and karma
We live life according to the fruitfulness of our past and present karma. Karma is not indeed bondage but most of us indeed wish to have a kind of karma which can give us loads of material comforts and in the process we even at times are not reluctant to follow the short-cuts to success. Even the most prominent public figures in the world are to some or to great extent are maligned by the effects of their immoral karma. Examples are in plenty. You may take the example of Hitler as a personification of evil and Ramalinga Raju of Satyam as a personification mithya. Karma (duty, responsibility, employment and even training to refine the ability to manifest the duties) influences our life in a subtle way. Sixth house tells us about the karma which we undertake in this life.
Health is a significance subject of this house. Good health makes us maintain the intensity of day-to-day activities of life. Routine job we undertake for a living is what we call a sixth house topic. The relation between health and work is inseparable; they co-exist as the two sides of a coin. When we study the planetary influence on this house we can know what kind of karma we take up and what the level of our health-consciousness is.

VII House of relationships, partnerships, war
An urge to merge is the mantra of this house. Partnership or companionship is its hallmark. This is also the house of war, prowess. Partnership works on faith and marriage is not just a union of two persons through a socially approved legal bonding but an approval of one soul to the other. It’s a bonding of hearts and souls or a merger of sprits.
Why this house is also a house of enemy or war?
Marriage can culminate into divorce; union into disunion, love can end up in hatred and ultimately it can lead to a war-like situation. It’s the house of others where the personal self unites with the other.

8TH HOUSE in astrology
Birth leads to Re-birth, sexuality leads to spirituality, death leads to moksha, spirituality leads to enlightenment, intensity or passion leads to re-generation, investment, inheritance, shared resources, mystery, longevity, other people’s resources, paranormal or esoteric experiences, legacies, investigation leads to revelation, meditation
This house fascinates me as I belong to this house. This house shows intensity and makes one intense from inside. 8TH house people are hyper-emotional but somehow as this house is a house of mystery it shows a path to transform the emotions in a constructive way. 8th house is the deep underworld of our psyche. It’s a house where the ego ( i-am-ness ) slowly issolves and the residual left as a result of this is kind of transformation. When one is affected by the influence of 8th house he may susceptible to act as a sponge which can absorb others pain, sorrow and emotions. Whenever I see someone in pain or sorrow I can not stop me from feeling the same that the particular person feels. It’s a gateway to the higher heaven where the soul wants free it from its lower plane to reach a higher plane. The result is an experience of some kind of death. I feel this death every day, every moment. 8th house people are not scared of death as they experience the same perhaps everyday. When some emotions die there will be death which transforms the soul, something dies to bring something to life. 8th house somehow strongly brings past life subconscious impressions. 8th house brings the poet in us into existence. I had no idea of what poetry is around 5 or 6 years back and one night a dear friend who himself was a poet introduced me to the world of music, poetry. He tuned in to some soft romantic Bryan Adam and mltr music. At that very night I wrote beautiful lyrics. When I showed it to him and some other friends they were both impressed and startled. Why they felt startled had a reason of course. They had been assionate music enthusiasts since years but they could never write a poem/music/song and I had never heard any music and the first day I heard a piece of music/song, I could automatically write lyrics of professional touch. Even when I later on reflected on this I felt my soul had identified itself with some strong past life impressions. Then for 4 years after that particular life event I would write songs/lyrics/poetry passionately and then compiled it as a book and also self-published it. Later I realized that all my poems or songs have strong 8th house theme/influence. Readers can read the poems on the website’s poetry home page.
8Th house transcends the soul and transforms our passions. It takes us to the path of spirituality, self-searching, collective living and it often makes us healers in some way who recognize the need to heal others pain and sorrow. It’s not easy to express the nature of this house in words rather it is to be felt.
